Our Estates in Chile

In Grupo Belén we look for diversity, which is why we have a mix of some estates that belong to us and some that we hold on long-term contract. This allows us to manage them on the basis of the result that we want to achieve in each of our wines.

Our Estates in Chile

Belén / Casablanca
This estate is located in the Lo Ovalle sector of the Casablanca Valley, in the Region of Valparaíso. It consists of 130 hectares, planted between 2004 and 2006, with a density of 10,101 pl/ha. This estate, dedicated to high-quality grapes, concentrates on white wines and cold-climate reds. It is worth mentioning that an additional 3.68 hectares of Syrah were planted here in 2010 using the bush-vine system, for making our Tirazis wine.

Romeral / Maipo
These vineyards are located in the Maipo Valley, in the Metropolitan Region, and consist of 54 hectares planted between 2004 and 2009, achieving a high density of between 6,944 and 10,101 pl/ha. Romeral concentrates on high quality red-variety grapes, mainly Cabernet Sauvignon and Carmenère.

Pencahue / Maule
We have 100 hectares planted in the Maule Valley and have added 80 hectares in 2014, planted mostly to white varieties such as Sauvignon Blanc and Chardonnay, along with some Merlot vines.Located in the Rapel Valley, in the Libertador Bernardo O'Higgins Region, this estate comprises 126 hectares planted at a density of 5,000 pl/ha. It concentrates mainly on red varieties, Tintorera being the predominant one.

La Moralina / Cachapoal
The La Moralina estate is situated in the catchment area of the Cachapoal Valley in the Libertador Bernardo O'Higgins Region. It consists of 27 hectares planted in the foothills and on the plain, on the banks of the river Rigolemu. It is located in a zone with temperatures favourable for the development of red varieties.

Valle de Curicó
Esta zona posee un clima mediterráneo sub-húmedo, influido por el anticiclón del Pacífico. Se caracteriza por su marcada estacionalidad, de inviernos lluviosos y veranos secos, sin nubosidad y de gran luminosidad. La amplitud térmica, alcanza los 20˚C, lo cual permite la adaptación de diversas variedades. Los vinos alcanzan altas concentraciones de fruta, siendo el Sauvignon Blanc el más representativo.

Yerbas Buenas / Maule
Located in the Maule region, this estate bears the name of the district in which it is situated. It has a total of 38 hectares planted with Sauvignon Blanc and Chardonnay. 24 hectares of Sauvignon Blanc and Merlot will be planted in 2012.

Melozal / Maule
Located in the rural district of San Javier in the Maule Region, this estate consists of 35 hectares planted with Cabernet Sauvignon, Carmenère, Syrah and Petite Syrah. 12 hectares of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot will be planted in 2012.
